Murs is preparing to release a new album and graphic novel package and needs help to launch it. Watch the video above then head over to his Kickstarter page to check out the artwork and make a pledge toward the release…
“The album and novel unite to tell the story of Yumi Morales, a girl living the fabled tour life working the merchandise table for her boyfriend Dominick’s band Murder Acts. The 124-page graphic novel is illustrated by Jose Garcia, written by Josh Blaylock and the ten-song album – whose lyrics are printed in their entirety throughout the novel – is produced entirely by DJ Foundation. Yumiko is available only via the project’s Kickstarter page, where a range of different pledge options will get you everything from the novel and CD to exclusive apparel, custom download cards illustrated by David Mack and Jim Mahfood, and a personal thank-you note and Twitter follow from Murs. Followed by the release of the album and book, an animated music video will officially be unveiled at Murs’ party during the Comic-Con convention in San Diego. “Yumiko is hip hop and comics done correctly,” says Murs of the project. “Comics have always been a huge inspiration to me. And having the chance to publish my own comic is truly an honor. Working with my partners to create this book was a lot of fun and we are looking forward to making our dream a reality with the help of the fans.”

He hinted at it back when I interviewed him a couple of weeks back (which I’m still yet to transcribe) but the follow up to the outstanding Die, Rugged Man, Die, entitled Legends Never Die is on it’s way!
As promised Odd Future drop their latest video for the new single “Rella”, which will appear on their upcoming OF Tape Vol.2 which drops on March 20th. The visual is the seventh directed by Tyler himself under the name Wolf Haley, and is the usual mix of madness and surrealism we have come to enjoy from him.
Tyler wrote a bit about the visual with a mixture of confidence and nervousness on his Twitter account…
“EVERY RAP VIDEO THAT RELEASED IN 2012 IS NOT AS AWESOME AS RELLA AND THIS IS TO EVERY RAPPER,YOUR VIDEOS FUCKING SUCK. IM NERVOUS AND ASIAN”
“Damn What If Everyone Hates It And My Career Is Over As Fuck. Damn”
“Thats How You Direct A Video Too, Let Your Imagination Run Free. Dont Let Anyone Turn Your Color Into Black And White.”
“…..And I Hope Missy, Hype Williams, Spike Jonze And Busta Sees It”
The new single from CHRIS GR3EN and Prince Golden’s upcoming collab album GR3EN/GOLD which is set to drop in the Summer. The sound quality is a little rough, but there is definitely a rawness and intriguing quality to the music and re-appropriated visuals that have been being dropped by the duo over the past few months.
Rocksmith clothing spent the day with Kendrick Lamar resulting in a nice short film piece in which K.Dot speaks on his working process, the producers he works with, his sound and much more…
Although I’d hoped Bronson was about to team up with Troy Ave, Mr Muthafuckin’ eXquire and Maffew Ragazino for an N.Y supergroup, this line-up is dope nonetheless. Instantly being compared with Slaughterhouse, the group will be named M.A.R.S (standing for Mega, Action, Roc Marci and Saigon) and production (on the first single at least) will be handled by the legendary Large Professor. Let’s just hope they manage to output more than Child rebel Soldier…
