Whilst on a trip out in Oakland Victor Vasquez aka Kool A.D. (one third of Das Racist) decided to experiment with the West coast sound as opposed to working with the usual artists he works with out on the East coast, and his new project 51 was born. Presented by Mishka, the mixtape is entirely produced by West coast beatmakers including Amaze 88 (who used to be in a punk band with Vasquez in high school), Young L, Trackademicks and Kechphrase, and includes guest verses from Main Attrakionz, Himanshu, Meyhem Lauren, Trackademicks and Boots Riley (of the Coup).

Last weekend saw the release of the latest EP from Hackney rapper Mikill Pane (best known for appearing on ‘Little Lady’ with Ed Sheeran) who pulled together collaborations from some of the biggest names in UK music and managed to do so without being outshone for his outstanding talent as a solo artist. The project features the likes of Ed Sheeran, Example, Paloma Faith, P Money, Yasmin and more.
