First of all, Happy New Year to everyone! I know it is two weeks overdue but, this is my first interaction with you all since my 2010 blog. I’m thankful to God for another year and blessing me with the opportunity to express myself through music.
Over the holidays, I was thinking of what topic I could cover next and what would be interesting and helpful to other artist. I came up with a list of Do’s & Do not’s that have helped me progress in this industry. Of course some are no brainers and others will be new to you, but with the no brainers, you wouldn’t believe how much they’re not followed!
Back for the second month, and glad to be apart of a group of Emcee’s recognized as “The Next Up” in the music industry!
Since last month I’ve decided to not censor myself as much, afterall, I am Who I am! It isn’t like I never say what’s on my mind, but in this game if you speak too freely then other artist take it to heart or think you’re actually directing shots at them since “THE WHOLE WORLD REVOLVES AROUND THEM” lol … I know us rappers are some shallow creatures. But FUCK that, I have a lot to say and music is my therapy and I want my true fans to know what’s going on and how this industry tries to play you. Maybe I’ve been influenced by Kid Cudi and Kanye too much! But it is true that this game is not for the weak, and it isn’t the industry to try to make a quick buck, cause even a quick buck song takes time and money to work its way to the masses but that’s another story.
First of all, I want to shout out HipHopFiend.Net for allowing myself and my peers, (who the site strongly believes will be the next rappers who everyone looks for in the near future) to document our journey in the music industry.
I’m going to write this as if I was speaking to my close friends, so don’t get all politically correct with me… [Read More..]
