What up,
I’m sitting here after just finishing up with season 1 of “How To Make It America”. I actually sat at home on a Friday night and caught it on HBO. Probably not the coolest thing, I’ll admit, but fuck it. I’m starting to turn into a hermit. All I want to do now is sit at home and write.
I was lucky enough to have my boy Chuuwee fly out to NC so we could finish our project. This was the first time I met him but everything went well. I took him around the city to some dope food spots and we got a chance to get to know each other outside of music. Speaking of music, he put me up on a little bit of everything. He literally listens to everything… and I listen to damn near nothing. I’m not really a music snob, but the CD player in my car just quit working. That was where I’d listen to music but now its just sports talk radio. So we had a nice little youtube session where he showed me A LOT OF SHIT. He put me on to some Bay Area music which was different, but I appreciated it. After a while, our saying started to be “party went yankee til the fucked it up”. I don’t know how that happened, but it stuck. We got the preliminary artwork from @PSImDope so its coming soon. I have to mix everything, but hopefully that won’t take too long. I had a lot of fun doing the project and it was good to collaborate with Chuuwee. He’s VERY talented and a hard worker. Hopefully “The Millennium Falcon” turned out to be good. We’ll see what people think.
Back to the hermit thing, I prefer to sit at home and work on music, but I write better when I’m around people. I’m trying to go out more with my friends to experience things to write about. We’ll see how that goes. Its finally getting colder and that’s always a plus in my book.
Later this week, we’ll be in Atlanta for A3C with the rest of the Jamla team so that should be fun. I’m excited to meet a people and more of my peers. Since I live in NC, I’m removed from a lot of things… so this is a chance to be involved face to face with things for a few days.
Last thing… the noises from Transformers: Generation 1 are the shit. You can’t tell me they’re not.
Peace,
Sundown
(Check out the last Act Proof Audio Blog, discussing blog commenting, here…)
In the latest Act Proof audio blog, the Jamla duo talk about the affect that blog comments have on their music, and how they are individually affected in different ways. Well worth listening to as everything they say is so true! Hilarity ensues!

I’m glad to announce that Actual Proof will be joining HipHopFiend on a weekly (or possibly bi-weekly) basis to put forth their opinions on various topics for what we are calling their ‘audio-blog.’
Due to a few technical issues it’s taken me until now to get this posted, it was recorded on the week that Watch The Throne was released, and discusses the ridiculous fan reaction to their mentor, 9th Wonder’s, statement on Twitter, that the album was “not for him”…

So,
I got home from being on tour a week ago. I had the time of my life with the whole crew; Charlie smarts, Khrysis and of course… RAPSODY. Rap got invited to be on the last two and a half weeks of the “Incredibly Dope Tour” with Mac Miller and she asked me to be her hypeman. I thought about it for like… 2 seconds and then I told her no. After she put me in a headlock and threatened to push me down the stairs, I had a change of heart. We started out in DC at the 9:30 Club and I’m pretty sure that’s the biggest crowd I’ve ever been in front of and, of course, Rap did her thing as usual. It was really good to be able to see my friend reach a new audience. She performed like she was meant to be there. I was actually observing most of the time when I should have been doing my job. It was like I had a front row seat for the entire tour. But the show went well, and before I knew it… it was over. The 20-30 minutes we were up there just flew by. I left backstage to go see Mac’s show and I had no idea of what I was getting into. I saw our good friends Alex and Darin Gilliam (agilliam1018 & littlebydm) and we were all floored by what was going on. Just imagine a non-stop party with about 1,500 people, Nolan Smith and his sister, Sydney, came to the show and we got to kick it with them too. After the craziness of the show, we went to Ben’s Chili Bowl and ran into too many people for me to name. Since the line was too long, I left and went to the hotel. And passed out…
The second night we went to Charlottesville, VA. I have a serious love affair with that town AND the University of Virginia. We got to the venue and pretty much just chilled after soundcheck. The SHHO from UVA (@SHHOUVA) came out to interview Rap before the show. It was good to see some familiar faces, but they couldn’t stay long because it was finals week. For some reason, the show in Charlottesville was one of my favorites. The crowd was REALLY energetic and they responded very well. After we got off… Mac came and killed it. For anyone who talks bad about Mac Miller, just try to do what he does. His stage show is amazing, and he moves THE WHOLE TIME. Its like an hour of straight partying.
After we left the venue, we went to our favorite spot on UVA’s campus… LITTLEJOHN’S!!! To anyone who plans on visiting Charlottesville, please… please go here. Their sandwiches are the shit. Period. We got to run into our good friend Jared Green and catch up while we were there. We talked about music and sports for the most part. He played wide receiver for UVA so he had plenty to tell us about living the life of a college athlete. And since me and Rap are huge sports fans, we had plenty of questions for him. Khrysis and Charlie Smarts went to a party with Mac’s DJ, DJ Clockwork (@clockworkdj) so they missed out on the Littlejohn’s experience. We also had a fan meet us at the spot and it was good to talk to him and his friends. I actually still text the dude from time to time…
That’s all for now. There’s way too much for just one blog. ‘Til next time…
Peace,
Sundown of Actual Proof
so…
I’m watching the tournament and trying to write for a few upcoming projects. Thank god that UCONN won or i might have broken something. I’m pretty sure kemba walker’s leaving for the NBA, but its been a lot of fun watching him this year. The time he spent with team USA over the summer really paid off. Ohio State’s still in it, which gives me two teams to route for. Which reminds me, I need to go back and visit Columbus over the summer, I haven’t been back in about 3 years. Now that I think about it, that’s way too long for me to go without stepping foot on that campus.
On the music side of things, I’m still writing for The Millennium Falcon project with Chuuwee, (@ChuuweeTUS) which I’m pretty excited about. I’m hoping to get him out to NC in late April so we can knock it out. He’s dope as hell and I can’t to hear what we come up with. Other than that, I’m still recording with my IWW family and Enigma. He’s been a little busy with school, but we’ll be working on new stuff again pretty soon. He put a verse on a song for TMF which was stupid… and we’ll be working on some new Act Proof material pretty soon.
On the life side of things, Rapsody (@rapsodymusic) is a good roommate. She’s hilarioius. We’re planning on making a video blog to show the world how silly we are. You may or may not see us (mostly me) building a potato gun. So don’t be shocked if it comes out.
Ok, I guess I’ll go back to writing and listening to Bill Simmons’ podcast. Thanks to Grant for allowing me to do this.
Peace!!!

So “The Talented Tenth” EP has been out for a while now, and the response has been very overwhelming. We put a lot of effort into making something that was easy to listen to… but thought provoking at the same time. All the late nights turned into something that we can look back on and be proud of. Since it was a digital release, we didn’t really have a chance to write up a “thank you” list… so here goes…
Sundown:
Thanks to my family for being so supportive; I wouldn’t be able to do this without any of you behind me. To everyone at Brightlady, lets keep rocking. To everyone that was a part of this project (Ka$h, Khrysis, AMP, Rapsody, HaLo, Big Remo, Eric G., Sean Boog, Tom Hardy, Sinopsis, Joyce He and of course, 9th Wonder,) we’re lucky to be around like minded people who push us to be better. To everyone at DJBooth.net, thanks for featuring the project. Tou guys shed a lot of light on us. To Grant Brydon, thanks for that interview. That might be the best one we’ve done so far. Thank God for Skype!!!
