Rick Ross – Spend It (Remix) x Mirror (Remix)
Jan 2012 01

I was hoping that the Bawse was going to drop Rich Forever for NYE yesterday, but unfortunately he didn’t, putting out these two remixes (which won’t be featured on the project) to tide fans over until release instead…

Spend It (Remix) (feat. T.I. & 2 Chainz)

Mirror (Remix) (feat. Lil Wayne & Bruno Mars)

Vince Staples – Shyne Coldchain Vol.1 (Mixtape)
Jan 2012 01

After hearing a number of features and a few singles from the OFWGKTA & Casey Veggies affiliate, I’ve been looking forward to checking out a full-length from Mr. Staples. Luckily just in time for the new year, the LA based skateboarder and rapper drops his latest mixtape, Shyne Coldchain Vol.1 which you can download after the jump…

T.I. – Fuck Da City Up (Mixtape)
Jan 2012 01

Since T.I. got out of prison a couple of months ago (for the second time this year) his contributions to remixes and the few new singles he has put out have all been on point, and therefore this new tape (despite the terrible artwork) comes highly anticipated. With input from the likes of Dr. Dre, Just Blaze, Young Jeezy, 2 Chainz, B.o.B, Pusha T, Hit Boy and T-Minus, the tape definitely feels like a lot of work has been put in, as opposed to just grabbing a few instrumentals and throwing something together quickly. And while I haven’t had time to give this a proper listen yet, what I did hear of it when I had it playing earlier sounded like what we needed to hear from the self-proclaimed ‘King Of The South’.

Chuck Inglish – WRKING. (Beat Tape)
Jan 2012 01

Amongst the new year’s eve releases was a collection of new instrumentals from one of my favourite producers, The Cool Kids’ Chuck Inglish; now lets see how long it takes for these to start cropping up on other people’s mixtapes…

Raekwon – Unexpected Victory (Mixtape)
Jan 2012 01

What better way to welcome in the new year than with a chunk of all original cocaine rap and gritty storytelling cooked up by the Chef Raekwon himself? Although this was originally intended for release on Christmas day, it’s definitely been worth the wait! The project features brand new production from the likes of 9th Wonder, Scram Jones, Statik Selektah, The Olympicks, Pro Logic, Moss and Blue Rock, with the mic duties assisted by Mobb Deep, Busta Rhymes, CL Smooth, Sauce Money, L.E.P Bogus Boys, Vado, Capone-N-Noreaga, Styles P, JD Era, Mean Doe Green and more…

D-Risha X That Purple Bastard – Ebonics (Remix)
Jan 2012 01

In the first single, “Ebonics” D-Risha basically defines all of the Houston slang (ala Big L) for those unfamiliar with our unique Houston-isms.  The original track was spit over an old Krs-One instrumental, but for the remix, I wanted to take it to the next level & decided to sample over 20 Houston classics in just a few short minutes.  The samples cover the entire era of Houston hip hop, going back to classics like the Geto Boys’ “Mind Playin’ Tricks On Me” and DJ Screw’s infamous “June 27th” to more modern cuts like Bun B’s “Get Throwed”.
