When they announced that Q would be dropping a new track today which would feature one of the Black Hippy’s, I was hoping it would be Ab-Soul. The fact that they decided to revisit this cut from SetBacks was a great move! This will feature on ScHoolboy Q’s Habits and Contradictions, which is hopefully dropping soon…
I’d never heard of ChrisCo heading into this, but with production entirely handled by Alchemist (as well as guest verses from the likes of Jon Connor, Crooked I and Obie Trice) there was no way I was missing out on this! Turns out that ChrisCo has a pretty distinctive vocal and good rhyming skills; coupled with the input from the formerly mentioned contributors, this makes for a pretty solid project.

Locksmith sits down to discuss his upcoming collaborative album with Ski Beatz, which I’m really looking forward to hearing, entitled Embedded, which finally drops November 15th on BluRoc..
I’m about to hop on Skype and interview Lock, so check back for the article in a few days time!
I’ve been playing Chuuwee’s latest project, Be Cool, a lot lately. The very promising Sacramento emcee is working hard on a number of new projects including Watching The Throne (dropping soon), Wildstyle (dropping early 2012) and The Millenium Falcon, a fantastic collaborative project with Sundown of Act Proof, which I’ve had the pleasure of previewing.
Be on the lookout for a lot of new content from Chuuwee coming to the site very soon!
In case anyone is wondering, the t-shirt in the video is by Ooloo (who I’d really love a sponsorship from!)
A couple of weeks back when I was previewing the Cats & Dogs LP, this was the track I constantly had stuck in my head. Definitely a good choice for the next single from the project. The full video will drop tomorrow, as will the full album!
It’s great to have so much output from OFWGKTA lately. Last night they dropped what feels like their response to The Weeknd, a new sub-group known as The Internet, with Syd on vocals and Matt Martian on production…
Chevy Woods, drops his latest project The Cookout, with features from his Taylor Gang General, Wiz Khalifa on all but 3 tracks. I actually think that Chevy manages to outdo Wiz (who is returning to form these days, in my opinion) verse-for-verse on a lot of these tracks, so it’s worth downloading on the strength of Chevy and the Big Jerm production alone (but is a must for all you Wiz fans out there!)
I’m still hoping that Wiz, Spitta and Medium Sean project drops at some point!

I know that Drake is considered ‘soft’ but this cover really does him no favours! I’m looking forward to the album, and am expecting this album to improve upon his first (which I did enjoy). However this is hilariously bad; the worst cover I’ve seen since Wayne dropped the artwork for The Carter IV. Seems like they are trying to disprove the importance of good album art over at YMCMB!
The LP, which is hopefully way better than it’s visual interpretation, drops on October 24th…
Good to hear we shouldn’t have too long to wait for some new content from OFWGKTA, after the recent release of Domo Genesis’ Under The Influence as their newest member (or rather, Tyler’s latest moniker) is about to drop a new project entitled Expensive Pasta anytime soon. Here is the lead single (complete with fantastic cover art!) from the not-to-be-taken-too-seriously side project…
Coming from the metropolitan concrete jungles of Houston, John Dew is preparing to return with his latest release Tech-NASA (Taking Earth Children Higher: Navigating Audio Sonic Amplifications). Drawing creative inspiration from his hometown’s alias Space City, and his entrepreneurial spirit as a promotional hip-hop guru, he creates a sound that is as authentic as the star brazen night skys of his birthplace. As a founding member of Council Music Records, his newest project combines Houston’s most notable characteristics of the struggle pursued by the ambition. Teaming up with producer DJ Cozmos, he creates a definitive depiction of where Houston hip-hop is headed. With 13 booming space-age tracks, he tells stories of the inhabitants, locality, and customs that make up the environment he hails from.
