A snapshot view into Ski working with Stat Quo and Nicole Wray on ‘Amnesia’ off his 24 Hour Karate School Part 2 which is available now on Itunes…
I just hit Stat Quo out of the blue on Twitter, because I’m a big Stat Quo fan, he’s dope. So I just hit him like, “Yo, b I want you to get on this project…” and he hit me right back saying, “Yo, no doubt, when do you want me to come down.” And he actually figured out the date (himself) and he stuck to it. He called me on the exact date he said he was coming down, he was in New York City, he came to the dojo and I played some beats; “Amnesia” was one of the beats I played. He has an unorthodox way of recording, he just goes in and just wins it. Just turns it into a song. And he’s definitely going to be a legend, because he’s a real ill emcee, and I know he does a lot of work with Dr. Dre right now, he’s doing a lot of writing for him. Stat Quo man, he should definitely be larger than he is, because he’s crazy. Very gifted.

Today marks the 10th Anniversary of Aaliyah’s tragic passing. Her legacy still continues to inspire the artists of our generation -a notable example being Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Member’s Only’ which samples the track posted here.
To commemorate her life I have posted here one of my personal favourites, ’4 Page Letter’, which was featured on her 1996 album, One In A Million…
