The day just got a lot hotter. Former G.O.O.D. Music frontman Consequence held his word and today launched a war against Kanye West and his army. In what’s expected to be the first of many attacks, on his first try Cons puts the spotlight directly on the labels latest signee, lyrical monster Pusha-T. On the track titled “The Plagurist Society” Cons questions Pusha’s coke-dealing raps while reminding the VA hustler that he comes from the land of the elite weight movers, the notorious Supreme Team. Consequence saves the best for last towards the end of the record when the Queens native promises to take aim at West on the next go round.

Time travelling rapper from the North East of the UK, teams up with 9th Wonder’s Soul Council member, Khrysis, to put out a boom bap cut that sounds like instant vintage and is currently dominating the US College Radio chart currently in at number five. Expect to hear more from the Baron in the future…

Less than six months after releasing his last album, Smoke DZA is preparing to release a new album on August 30th, entitled Rolling Stoned, here is the lead single from that featuring a couple of dope guest verses from Bun B and Big K.R.I.T…

It was announced today that Jay-Z and Kanye, who are collectively being referred to as “The Throne”, are set to tour the US commencing this September in Detroit. People who purchase tickets when they go on sale on August 8th will also receive a digital copy of the album. What they’ve tried to sneak in (as if they are hoping we won’t notice) is that the album release date has now been pushed back a week until that same date (August 8th), so we have a bit longer to wait…

Hopefully they will make it over to the UK at some point (and not just London!)

As I’m sure you all know by now, Amy Winehouse sadly passed away on Saturday at the age of 27. Unfortunately due to her various addictions and questionable life-choices a lot of the media have been fairly disrespectful with regards to her passing. I think it’s important to remember that she was a young lady who was very talented and struggling to deal with being thrown into the limelight- different people handle situations in different ways, and it is undeniable that she made some fantastic music before her career was cut tragically short.

One of my favourite cuts that she released was “You Know I’m No Good” featuring Ghostface Killah…

I’ve been away for the weekend at Sneaker Scoundrels in London with SoleSearchers (more about that soon!), so I’m a little late on this. But, if you didn’t already get it here is Friday’s track from Wiz, Spitta and Sean, which succeeds in maintaining the high level of tracks they dropped last week.
