OFWGKTA are about to head into the UK to perform their first dates outside of London this month. Their short tour begins in the capital at the London Electric Ballroom tomorrow, but next week will see them venture to Manchester for a performance at the Academy 2 on Tuesday (12th) and to Birmingham’s HMV Library the day after (Wednesday 13th). Unfortunately all of the dates for the tour have sold out, so people desperate to attend might have have to resort to buying from a tout.
The collective is also set to perform at Reading and Leeds festivals in August, so if you are heading to either of those you’re in luck!
I’ll be in attendance at the Manchester date to review the show, so check back here later next week!
As usual I’m away for the weekend, so won’t be posting much. But before I leave I had to post this to ensure that everyone purchases Kendrick Lamar’s highly anticipated latest release, which really is as good as I’d hoped for. Cop this, and enjoy your weekend!
I’d be interested in hearing peoples opinions on this one. Music from the North East of England (where I’m from). Rick Fury is my favourite emcee in the area right now, and although I’m not a huge follower of the local scene, I really enjoyed what I heard of this album and thought it would be worth sharing here. This one is for fans of a darker underground boom bap sound; just straight lyrical wordplay and thumping beats.
Something I’m particularly interested in is, does the accent provide a barrier to people who aren’t from the area?
I can’t wait to download Section 80 at midnight tonight…
