So,
I got home from being on tour a week ago. I had the time of my life with the whole crew; Charlie smarts, Khrysis and of course… RAPSODY. Rap got invited to be on the last two and a half weeks of the “Incredibly Dope Tour” with Mac Miller and she asked me to be her hypeman. I thought about it for like… 2 seconds and then I told her no. After she put me in a headlock and threatened to push me down the stairs, I had a change of heart. We started out in DC at the 9:30 Club and I’m pretty sure that’s the biggest crowd I’ve ever been in front of and, of course, Rap did her thing as usual. It was really good to be able to see my friend reach a new audience. She performed like she was meant to be there. I was actually observing most of the time when I should have been doing my job. It was like I had a front row seat for the entire tour. But the show went well, and before I knew it… it was over. The 20-30 minutes we were up there just flew by. I left backstage to go see Mac’s show and I had no idea of what I was getting into. I saw our good friends Alex and Darin Gilliam (agilliam1018 & littlebydm) and we were all floored by what was going on. Just imagine a non-stop party with about 1,500 people, Nolan Smith and his sister, Sydney, came to the show and we got to kick it with them too. After the craziness of the show, we went to Ben’s Chili Bowl and ran into too many people for me to name. Since the line was too long, I left and went to the hotel. And passed out…
The second night we went to Charlottesville, VA. I have a serious love affair with that town AND the University of Virginia. We got to the venue and pretty much just chilled after soundcheck. The SHHO from UVA (@SHHOUVA) came out to interview Rap before the show. It was good to see some familiar faces, but they couldn’t stay long because it was finals week. For some reason, the show in Charlottesville was one of my favorites. The crowd was REALLY energetic and they responded very well. After we got off… Mac came and killed it. For anyone who talks bad about Mac Miller, just try to do what he does. His stage show is amazing, and he moves THE WHOLE TIME. Its like an hour of straight partying.
After we left the venue, we went to our favorite spot on UVA’s campus… LITTLEJOHN’S!!! To anyone who plans on visiting Charlottesville, please… please go here. Their sandwiches are the shit. Period. We got to run into our good friend Jared Green and catch up while we were there. We talked about music and sports for the most part. He played wide receiver for UVA so he had plenty to tell us about living the life of a college athlete. And since me and Rap are huge sports fans, we had plenty of questions for him. Khrysis and Charlie Smarts went to a party with Mac’s DJ, DJ Clockwork (@clockworkdj) so they missed out on the Littlejohn’s experience. We also had a fan meet us at the spot and it was good to talk to him and his friends. I actually still text the dude from time to time…
That’s all for now. There’s way too much for just one blog. ‘Til next time…
Peace,
