The latest teaser for the upcoming Captain America movie, after being disappointed by the Green Lantern movie I’m counting on Marvel Studios to deliver a good comic book movie this Summer…
I know every song they make sounds the same these days, but I’d still love to hear a collaborative project from Ricky and Wayne…
God Forgives, I Don’t (hopefully) coming soon…
Schoolboy Q jumps on Smoke DZA’s Lex Luger-produced single from his latest free release, The Hustler’s Catalog; it’s good to hear that not everyone turns into Rick Ross (or Waka Flocka) when they get on a Luger beat…
More new music to keep us going until TiRon and Ayomari drop their upcoming A Sucker For Pumps project…
The En Kärlekshistoria EP is the result of two guys from Crenshaw and Slauson coolin’ out in Stockholm for twelve days. TiRon & Ayomari decided to release this Swedish love story, produced by the Sum Comfort Food duo. So appropriately (on Midsummer’s Eve) we bring you this EP as a Moovmnt exclusive. It features the lovely Seinabo Sey on the vocals and is just a warm up, because the guys from LA are also dropping another project called A Sucker For Pumps later this summer. Feel free to download, enjoy and share with your friends.
If you missed it, check out my interview with TiRon here…

Last night Statik Selektah went in the studio with Freddie Gibbs for another marathon UStream studio session to create an entire EP (entitled Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away) in one night. Here is one of the tracks from the resulting project, which drops tomorrow on Itunes, but if you can’t wait that long, you can cop it from ShowOffHipHop now…
For this month’s “Words I Manifest” column at AboveGroundMagazine, I introduce my friends and sponsors, the SoleSearchers crew, and talk about how they’ve turned their passion for Sneaker collecting, into a thriving business…
The crew started 4 years ago as a network of sneaker heads (who all knew each other through b-boying and the local hip-hop scene) due to a lack of sneakers in our area (Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK) and the rush of fakes that became available on eBay that caused them to avoid the site. Originally the crew would simply photograph their finds and send them to the rest of the crew, asking whether anyone wanted a pair picking up, but once their collections began to grow too large, they started to sell unwanted sneakers to friends, discovering a great demand from sneaker fans who didn’t want to spend the time hunting themselves.
I’ve been waiting on this dropping all week, it’s short and sweet with only 11 tracks (including her recent collabs from Talib Kweli and Pharoahe Monch’s albums, and recent leaks “Casebasket” and “RIP”) but the tracks are all excellent (or at least what I’ve gotten through so far has been) and the tape showcases Jean’s ability to jump between being aggressive (“R.I.P”) to introspective (on her interpretation of Kanye’s “Blame Game”) and all with outstanding style and technical ability. Definitely worth the wait, I’ll be bumping this for a while!
Tracklist and download link after the jump…
I found this tape at FreeOnSmash and thought it seemed pretty random. Basically its a project that just dropped out of nowhere featuring the likes of No I.D., Steve Wyreman, Free Bass, Keys of Coke, Rob “The Mixer” Kinelski, Kevin Randolph, James Fauntleroy, Common, Makeba, Sam Lewis, Anna Ugarte, Omar Loya, Blake Douglas and Pablo Escobar.
Personally what grabbed my attention was track 2 which is a brand new Common track produced by No I.D entitled “Summer Madness.” If you’re like me and only really care about the Common track, you can grab that here…
If you’d like the full project, hit the jump…

I’ve been a fan of Grieves ever since I stumbled across the title track from his debut album, Irreversible, back in 2007, and today Grieves dropped his latest Rhymesayers release, Together/Apart which after a few listens feels like potentially his strongest record yet.
Check out a few of my favourites here, then head over to Itunes or Fifth Element to get your copy…
