My name is Marz Lovejoy.
I’m 19.
Born in Minneapolis, raised in San Diego and have been living in Los Angeles for the past five years.
I’m a humble artist – EMCEE to be specific, artist, overall.

On November 22nd, 2010, I dropped my first project called, This Little Light Of Mine. It’s a seven track EP that’s available on iTunes or Amazon.
**BUT LET’S BACKTRACK**
August 2009, after graduating high school, my mother decided to clue me in on the move we were making to Minnesota just a month before the move actually happened.
I was not a happy camper.
In Minneapolis, I lived alone in a studio apartment downtown. I was out of my element. So I turned on my laptop, started recording my raps and uploading my videos to YouTube.
Just about one year ago (September 2009), I posted my first video. With the help of total isolation from the world I knew, YouTube and Twitter, I had created a homegrown buzz for myself.
After six months of “ME time” and recording raps, I got myself back to Los Angeles the best way I knew how: via school. By the first week of January, I was moved into yet another studio apartment and enrolled in New York Film Academy (in North Hollywood).
**REAL TIME**
It’s now December 2010 and I’ve graduated film school, collabo- ed AND toured with Pac Div, gotten signed to a distribution/label deal, launched MarzLovejoy.com, created and recorded This Little Light Of Mine; released it on iTunes, opened up for GZA & DJ Premier in New York and DJ Quik in Los Angeles. I will create and shoot my own videos and I am preparing for my second project. Whew…

My EP has been coming along wonderfully. I reached #90 on iTunes’ Top HipHop/Rap Album’s list. I’m BLESSED.
