Hi. G.o.D. Jewels here. For those of you not in the know, I’m an Hip-Hop artist hailing from Chicago. As of right now, my entire life is based around attaining success. It borderlines on obsession. Sometimes, I don’t even know what day it is unless I have an upcoming obligation that requires me to be cognizant of what day it is. The hours and minutes just run together until they become indistinguishable from one another.

In fact, the concept of time is only relevant when I think to myself, “How long until I make my first million?” or “How long until the masses and the A&Rs wake up out of their sleep and realize how dope I am?” My daily routine consists of constructing my plan for dominance and building my brand. Shooting visuals, writing, listening to music outside the genre of Hip-Hop for inspiration, staying on top of the latest art and fashion trends, and brainstorming for my future projects.
Currently, I’m shooting visuals for my upcoming project, the name of which I can’t reveal yet. I’m also revamping my website. Hopefully, I can have everything completed this month and have it out to the public by January or February. Unfortunately, the process of creating art isn’t an exact science and I have no way of knowing what roadblocks will present themselves between now and February. Nonetheless, that’s the time frame I’m aiming for. I’ve learned that you can’t rush or force a project out, and you can’t succumb to the moans and groans of your fans/supporters (as much as I appreciate them) who demand you give them material at the drop of a hat. You have to be comfortable with the completeness of your project first before anyone else, and if you aren’t, cultivate it to perfection.
Living in Chicago can be frustrating at times. Nike Basketball and Ruby Hornet recently collaborated on a mixtape entitled “City Of Win” featuring Chicago artists. From what I can gather, City Of Win is an initiative by Nike to recognize Chicago as a hotbed for basketball talent. I was appalled and disgusted to find out that this tape was released and I wasn’t asked to be a part of it. I released the Chicago anthem/video of the year, yet I’m snubbed by whomever organized this project. I am Chicago through and through, how do you not reach out to me? I wouldn’t be as bothered by it if it wasn’t Nike and Chicago basketball themed/affiliated. I’m a huge Nike head as well as an avid fan of basketball, not just Chicago basketball. This was a blatant slap in the face as far as I’m concerned. Then again, Ruby Hornet has adamantly refused to post any of my material on their site, so I should have seen that coming. Ulterior motives and agendas at work. Chicago’s finest indeed.
Jesus once said “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do”. He was right. They don’t. In a few short months, I’ll shake shit up again.
