Another new Drake track has emerged, possibly an unreleased track from “Thank Me Later”. This track is decent but I can see why it didn’t make the cut. We can only wonder how many tracks Drake has floating around…

An interesting interview here, reveals Jay’s ideas about the track, how it came together, and his thoughts on having Diddy in the song for so long!

It turns out that all of the freestyles Mickey has been putting out recently won’t even be featured on his upcoming mixtape… This is the first release from “I’m Better Than You”, which should be dropping sometime in the middle of the summer.

The first release from XV’s long-awaited “Vizzy Zone” mixtape, I like the energy in this track… Hopefully “Vizzy Zone” will drop soon!

In a time when Young Money rule the charts, it would be very easy for an artist who has previous history with the group to gain publicity by starting beef. Luckily Curren$y hasn’t taken this route, but has simply put together and album of really good music in order to sell units. [Read More..]

Big Sean provides a light hearted video to accompany his first single… I enjoyed this as it had a good balance of humour and seriousness in it, plus its the only video Sean has done thats not clearly really low-budget…

Big Sean’s debut album “Finally Famous” is due out 14th September..

Rakaa provides these dark visuals for his emotional track about heartbreak, not what would usually be expected from Rakaa, but he handles it very well…

“Crown Of Thorns” is out in 7 days…

Through College and University, my interest in Hip-Hop was solidified by my involvement in B-Boying. I spent the best part of four years trying to express myself through dancing in University basements, dining halls, community centres and unused nightclubs; I was never the best dancer, and I never expected to be, but I had fun and found my identity as well as gaining a lot of close friends.

It is for these reasons that I hate seeing films like “Step-Up” and “You Got Served”, and average dancers who gain commercial recognition on TV talent shows purely because audiences are uneducated and ignorant of Hip-Hop dance styles.

I have therefore decided that being a blog about “Hip-Hop” I will not leave the dance behind, and want to help to inform people about what Hip-Hop dance styles are, what is good, what is bad, the history etc. [Read More..]

Mikey put out these two summer themed tracks on IllRoots.com

They are produced by the Produktionix and aren’t intended to be part of a larger project but just “something to keep the summer rollin’”

I’m always glad to hear new Cool Kids (affiliated) stuff, and am always intrigued to hear them working separately…

Thanks to Hypetrak for conveniently uploading to Soundcloud

Pusha T released this freestyle today over the beat of Jay Electronica and Diddy’s “Ghost of Christopher Wallace” track. As you would expect from Pusha, he certainly did this beat justice. However this was only a promo of things to come, as Pusha has announced he will be releasing a street album, entitled “Fear Of God”, on the 14th September (aka G.O.O.D Music Day) which will feature all original music, including production from Kanye West…
